Attendance Reminder

If you child is absent from school you should call and advise the reason for absence before 9.30am.  If you do not provide a reason for absence you will be contacted and a home visit may be completed.   If we are still unable to gain a reason for absence the Education Welfare Service or the Police may be notified.  To avoid this PLEASE ENSURE YOU CONTACT US ON THE FIRST DAY OF ABSENCE.

Please ensure you child arrives to school between 8.45 - 8.55 am.  If your child arrives after 8.55 am your child will receive a late mark.  If a child arrives after 9.25 am your child will receive a U code.  This is classed as an unauthorised absence and this affects your child's attendance.  If your child arrives late on a regular basis you will be invited to a meeting  to discuss the reasons and the Education Welfare Service will be notified.

We do not authorise holidays during term time except in extreme circumstances.  If you take your child out of school during term time you WILL receive a fixed penalty notice of £60 per parent, per child.  This means if you have 2 children you will be fined £120.00. All term time holisays are legally required to be reported to the local council and they are ultimately in charge of issuing fines to parents. The school has no authority or control over the decisions made.

Attendance Reward,  Don't Miss Out!!

At Rough Hay we understand the importance of children attending school on a regular basis. To support this we offer a number of  rewards for attendance.

    • Weekly certificate for best class attendance
    • Reward for all children who gain 100% attendance each school term - the children will be invited to the clown/magic show.
    • For 2016-2017 all children with 100% attendance for the full school year will be celebrating at the pizza party  on the 18th July.
    • ALL children who gain 100% per week will go in to a draw to win £5.00.  The draw will take place every Monday afternoon in assembly and the children's name drawn out will receive their money.  There will be two draws one for KS1 and one for KS2.

All children who gain 100% attendance (excluding medical where evidence has been provided) are invited to attended a FREE pizza party this school year 2016-2017.

We  want ALL children to achieve to their maximum potential and to do this we need children to attend school regularly.

Attendance rewards will be given to every child  that achieves 100% attendance every half term.  Evidence must be provided for all medical appointments to access this reward.
